Thanks to all of the inspiration from you ladies out there in blogland I tackled yet one more wreath. This time I followed the
Ta
and
Fa
Jones Design Company
tutorial on what they call the Nonna Wreath.
The reason I am calling this The Shabby Chic Wreath is because I used some old Shabby Chic sheets (oh man that is a tongue twister and sounds like you have a lisp!) that had so much use they were already tearing on their own. So I grabbed my little girl and we kept tearing. And tearing into lots of strips. Then following the tutorial we wrapped the styrofoam wreath with the strips and spots of glue here and there until it was completed covered. And then we started to layer the strips on top of the wreath and this is where we used lots and lots of glue. I am adding that part into this tutorial!tutorial on what they call the Nonna Wreath.

it was almost complete. I grabbed some ticking I had in a drawer and made a big old bow and glued it to the bottom and cut a strip to hang it from the top. I have to admit that it sat next to the tree for a few days because I didn't think that I liked it much. But once I got the bowage going and hung it in the perfect spot - well gosh. . . I kinda liked it.
And now I like it alot!

Very cute! I love that it's white, not predictable green and red. I may have to go pull out some old sheets!

Ok, first of all you are so cute! I loved your singing and tongue twister! :) That wreath is so pretty and shabby, perfect! I love the bow! I think that these are so pretty and I will attempt to copy you at some point! :) I am loving all your little flag banners too, very cute!
Fabulous wreath! I wish I was that crafy!
I like the wreath, too, Melanie. Sometimes, it takes a little time for things to "grow" on us. And, hopefully, that happens before we decide to scrap the project we've worked so hard on! LOL

How fun, Melanie! It's a nice twist to the traditonal wreath. I think the big fluffy bow is the perfect touch. It's fun to try something different. Hope you're enjoying your weekend.

Love your wreath. I love using strips of old white pillow cases to make ribbons and bows. A great look.

I bet I could do this one and I never throw anything away, so I have a stash of sheets ready, most often used for drop cloths. It turned out so cute. And hey, we are almost neighbors. Ya, I'm a little to your north but, Howdy and Merry Christmas!
What a great idea! I have never seen a wreath made of sheets...love it. Thanks for sharing this at my party and I hope you have a Merry Christmas.
