I am sure most or all of you have seen the sweet movie "Up" by now. Our family certainly enjoyed it and it was the first real movee that we took our little one to see when she was about two. It captivated her attention and touched our hearts. You just couldn't help but fall in to love with Carl and Ellie and their dream.

Recently KSL.com reported of a new home being featured in The Parade of Homes which is a replica of the "UP" home and I have to admit it is absolutely charming. The whimsical arched gateway leading to the walkway is yet another attention to detail. If you have not yet seen this movie I recommend that you do and if you have go ahead and grab your kids and some popcorn and throw an old sheet over the garage door and project it at dusk and watch it together.

Spring?

The past few days have been a bit warmer but we are still experiencing some rain. This week is supposed to be a bit of the same. We are hoping that Spring really is here soon so we can pull out our flip flops and sun glasses. Hope it is sunny and bright where you are.

The Day Is Done

I cannot thank you all enough for the encouraging words and support that have poured into my inbox as my first day of my new job approached.

My goodness what wonderful friends I have.

And friends I have not officially met who sent prayers my way wishing me the best of luck.

Thank you all a thousand times over.

I read each of them at least three times!

And now the day is done and I did it.

I saw many new faces, shook many hands, and learned some new names.

I was fed data and was overwhelmed with information.

But I expected it and know that it will all come together with time.

It will make sense.

And I am eager to make a contribution.

So again thank you friends out there.

Please know I read each and every email and comment.

My goal in the past has been to respond to each of these personally.

I have been thinking over the past few weeks of my new schedule and how I can continue to juggle all that I am currently doing.

I have reluctantly admitted that I need to allow myself some time for transition.

So please please be patient with me if it takes some time for me to respond to your lovely emails and comments going forward.

My time is so limited as I make this transition and juggle my family time and blogging time.

Please know that I am reading and smiling at all of your kind words and thoughts.

The Edna Room Makeover & Allison Kimball

All of these pieces came together . . . . And created this . . . .
and it turned out lovely. And sweet Sophie asleep on the bed just makes it all that more perfect. The vintage white finish has such a crisp fresh look. It is so inviting and peaceful. Thank you to A l l i s o n and Chach for letting us help them transform their room. These ladies (niece and aunt) are such a pleasure to work with. We laugh and examine and talk about all sort of options. We have more of their pieces coming up.

Four years ago today I married this boy. And despite years of endometriosis and years of birth control to manage it we had her on our ten month wedding anniversary.

You just never know.

"How To" Class and Dear Anthro

Here we go with two completedly unrelated topics and thoughts. But honestly - this is how my head works. It is buzzing with ideas and things I want and how do I get them?

First up . . . .

Due to several inquiries lately Mike and I are discussing and working through the logistics of putting together a class to share our processes and ideas on painting. We are really excited about it and wanted to open up a discussion with all of you out there to help us out!

If you would be interested in attending such a training will you please leave me a comment or drop me a note at frostedgardner@live.com. If you have feedback or questions please let us know as well. We are pulling together ideas and would love to make this happen! The class would be held in the Davis County area and if we can get enough participants it just might actually happen. And one of the most exciting things about it is we would get a chance to meet each of you!

From a House to a Home

So yes it is true. We are trying to move.

Who knows if it will ever happen.

But if it does.

I want to move into a house like this.

A house like my Great-Grandmother Carrie's house.

I want there to be mystery behind each window.

I want angles, and curves, and columns.

I want an open porch to spend my nights reading books and talking with family and friends.

I want an old tattered but stable porch swing where our little one's feet will dangle.
I want a big backyard with huge swooping shade trees for family bar-b-ques and water fights.
Yep, I want an old house
that we
will
call
home.


Maybe someday.

Hook Boards

If you have been following our blog for long you will remember The Lucas Hutch. After it was completed we decided we liked it so much that we kept it and turned it into Our Lucas Entertainment Center. And to do so we pulled the doors off and they have been sitting there ever since. Until this past week when they received a special makeover for a very special cause.
We took the four doors and converted them into hook boards. We donated two of the boards along with some other items to Davis Cox and kept two of the boards for our own bathroom makeovers.

Hook boards can be used for so many different things. They can hold hanging wet towels, gathered flowers held together by twine and hung upside down, bottles wrapped in wire, name plates, numbered plates, keepsakes, and antique jewelry or pendants.

These were simple and cost next to nothing. Don't you just love projects pulled together by things laying around. I know I sure do.
