BeforeThis is a 1967 Thomasville hutch we found and we are sure happy that we did. It has many straight lines and clean cuts. It has a strong chunky base with four doors instead of the typical three. The top has four doors which is a bit unusual as well.
After
We painted it in my favorite vintage white and lightly distressed it.
We added new oil rubbed bronze hardware which is my favorite on our vintage white. And this is a new style that I found recently and I am swooning over the bowed pulls with the round end caps.
The majority of the hutches that we have refinished either have two doors that open on the sides or one in the middle which causes alot of reaching around. This hutch has four doors with three separate compartments. The two middle doors open to one section and the side doors have separate compartments.
The bottom section has some nice wood detailing. Behind the doors on the left are three drawers which is a nice organizing feature. Behind the doors on the right is one shelf.
The two middle doors are contoured and sit slightly in front of the two side doors.

Monday is right around the corner and the day I start my new job. It was a rough farewell for me yesterday as I parted ways with friends and co-workers. The change I have feared is upon me and actually already happening. But it is good. It is a blessing.

What a transformation! The white with those lights inside is just beautiful! Good luck in your new challenge!
Wow! It looks beautiful. I have a china cabinet sitting in my garage right now that I desperately want to keep after I "refinish" it. It usually goes something like this "honey, if I finish this piece and it looks really good wouldn't it look great in our dining room?" all I get is this blank stare and then "....ummmm I don't think so". But I know when I find that amazing piece I WILL keep it no matter what anyone says!!
How did you paint this piece? Please tell me you use a sprayer and you love it and it's inexpensive and it works great? I'm researching paint sprayers right now and the one I currently have is NOT working for me. Thanks!
You've done a beautiful job on it! I'm sure it'll sell quickly.
Good luck in your new job! What an exciting time for you.
I just drooled all over your hutch. And I curious to know if you use a sprayer, brush, foam roller?

The hutch is just beautiful! Hope you have a wonderful first day on Monday!
Oh be still my heart...I LOVE this piece...Actually I have been offered a smaller version by the Inlaw's to refinish how I see fit...Well you just gave me my "see fit" hehe...Though I would rather have this one with the 4 doors I doubt it would fit in our small dining area...I am jealous of whoever gets to take it home...Great job again guys.
Blessings Kelsie
I love it.... It's completely perfect.. I would be trying to find a place to put it too! Where did you find that hardware? I love it and need something like that for a piece in my bedroom... Fabulous!
Amazing transformation. I can never really believe the huge transformation a little paint and antiqueing does to a piece. Stunning. Hugs, Marty
Gorgeous, gorgeous my dear friend! I really love the glass and all the shelves in this one, it is very open but yet so much wonderful detail!

I am on a hunt for a hutch and I love this one! I want one just like this! You did an awesome job!
Amazing transformation, and I'm drooling over the pulls as well. I also have a "thing" for hutches, I have 2 in my kitchen, one in my garage and a new one coming in any day. It's kind of a problem, but a good one!
Beautiful!!
I have the twin to this hutch. I've been telling my husband I want to paint it - he keeps telling me to paint the wood will ruin it. UNTIL I just showed him the photo of your gorgeous finished hutch. Looks like I'll be starting a new project soon. Thank you!!
That was a large piece and a labor of love. LOVED how it turned out. Great job! Blessings, Barb

fabulous job! love what you did to transform your hutch! so lovely.
I have an old hand-me-down hutch. The dark wood is too much. Love your painting technique. I can't wait for warmer weather to be able to do it on ours!
A beautiful transformation. I have a built in one that I still need to just organize.
Congratulations on your new job and wishing you wonderful happy days ahead.
Amazing transformation. Thanks for making it a part of Seasonal Sundays.

Amazing how paint can totally transform the look of furniture. This was a nice piece to begin with but it looks beautiful, now!

As expected, you did an amazing finish on a hutch with great bones. I love looking at your projects and aspire to be as good at finishing pieces as you. Thanks for sharing.
Wow--this is amazing! You did such a great job!!!
wow - wow - wow - this is gorgeous!! great find & great job!!!
What a fantastic piece! May I ask why you only do white and black pieces? Is it because these are custom orders and that's what the client wants? I love your work, I'm just curious :)
I love it. It turned out wonderful. Following you from These Creative Juices Blog link party. Please stop by my blog when you can. http://diyhshp.blogspot.com/
Your cabinet is so inspiring. I have finished many vintage pieces, but haven't tackled a china cabinet... I have a large one (over 72 inches wide). I'm going to try it. You have done a beautiful job.
THat is a stunning piece. I love the staging too! JenT
really nice! I see hutches and china cabinets like this all the time on Craigslist and I'm always afraid it will not come out 'right'... this is proof it will!
Wow this is gorgeous! Congrats on finishing such a huge peice!!
