My parents have a ranch house where the family can escape from hectic schedules to breathe in fresh air and enjoy a slower paced life. And we all need that even if it is just for the weekend. My sister and I took the opportunity to photograph what we see each time we make the drive to the house. The winding road takes you past old red barns, weather vanes, grazing cattle, fresh water springs, and old train compartments. The view is spectacular and dotted along the way are old old homes . . the kind where the frame is the only thing left standing. One can also spot my Grandfather's old fishing car and farming equipment. More to come . . .

What a gorgeous place. It reminds me of times spent out west in Wyoming with my grandparents. It is ironic, they used to work for Union Pacific railroad. You had a picture of an old rail car. Enjoy your trip. Love & blessings from NC!
I love everything about this post! I love the drive home to my parents farm! Once you hit their dirt road it's like taking a deep breath. It's just...home.
