The Fenway Dresser - Before & After

Before
This little $5 dresser had seen better days. Every drawer was broken and there was a huge split down the middle of the top.
DuringThe big boys helped out on this project. In fact, they mostly did it under Mike's direction. You can see aside from all of the functional repairs it had to be puttied and wood filled pretty much everywhere! I think our little girl just wanted to do whatever the boys were doing but she has been known to putty a dresser or two before.
After
Can you believe this transformation. Good job boys!
The boys let me pick out the hardware so I opted for a decorative pull. It is a hammered pewter with a black glass bead in the center. I wanted something that would not sit flush with the drawer. The dresser is quite simple and flat so it needed something to give it more depth. I think these did the trick. The boys already had in mind how they wanted to use this little dresser and what they wanted to name it even before the hardware was installed. Hmmmm. I wonder who their favorite professional baseball team. I just cannot imagine.

Up next we are finally finishing up our own dining table. This has been in the making for quite some time so I hope that we are happy with the results!

What a fantastic job! How do you get the putty to work so well? We have had to putty a dresser we are refinishing, and the putty doesn't look good at all.

this transformation looks really great. I have a dresser at home that looks very similar to this, even with the old wooden pulls. The only thing thats been holding me back from transforming it is the pulls. I'm not sure how to get rid of those with out having a huge whole left behind.

Advice would be great :)
