Before
After This is a very classic black hutch. I did not realize all of the detail and intricate wood work on this piece until Mike had it completed. It has elegant crown molding around the top of the hutch. You can see that the section with the doors on both the top and bottom are protruding and provides another level of depth.
The wood detail on the bottom doors makes it unique and special. I think the base of this hutch took on a completely different look once it was painted and distressed and polished up with new hardware.
You will notice in the before pictures that the hutch had a grating on the two end doors. We removed that to give it a fresh clean crisp look. This hutch could go in just about any room in the house. It would compliment a home office, a dining room, a living room, or even a bedroom. Hutches are not just for dining areas anymore. They are so versitile and functional.
And most importantly.
Beautiful!
Have a wonderful day!

Wow! What a great transformation. I love how you can take an old piece of furniture and make it look new again.
Awesome...I am a follower, going to be looking for some pieces to work on and I will enjoy the inspiration,

Nicely done, I love the dark paint with the distressing. It's a change from all the white I keep seeing (and doing to my pieces). As a matter of fact, I had considered going dark with the last project - this post convinced me to paint the next one dark. Thanks!

The distress job you did on this piece is pretty fabulous.
This came out gorgeous! I have a hutch similar to this that I've been wanting to do, but I've been to afraid to try! I think you may have inspired me! I'm curious, did you hand brush or spray paint?
WOW!!! That looks gorgeous now!
Melanie, You can actually SEE the details of the piece with the new paint job! Fantastic effort here. I'm in the retail furniture biz, so seeing a re-do like this always makes me smile.
