The Lala Dresser - Before & After

Dimensions:
65" Wide . 32" Tall . 19" Deep

Before

After
This dresser exemplifies elegance. The drawers have a curved drawer front which gives it a classic and graceful look. The dresser sits up on unique beautiful legs which add to the old age feel. We have kept the original hardware to maintain the vintage look. I really don't think that we could have picked out something new that would have complimented this piece any better than the delicate pulls it came with. When something works you just let it be.

I would like to point out the glasses sitting on the open book. These were my grandfather's glasses that I have sitting up on my fireplace mantle for safe keeping. I picture him with these glasses on reading the newspaper. These are one of my treasures.

And . . . . drumroll. Yes, the photo has significance as well. This is our engagement picture. Mike and I have been married a little over three years. He came packaged with two beautiful daughters and two very handsome young men. And on our ten month wedding anniversary we welcomed our own babygirl.
So there you go. The Frosted Gardner family. Mike does all of the hard work and I get to do the fun stuff like pick out the furniture, help with paint colors, distress and glaze, take pictures, and update the blog. He gets to put on his work clothes, paint, fix drawers, go to Home Depot and pretty much work his magic because he is the one making it happen! He is the reason these pieces are so beautiful. He is very talented and I am sure lucky he is mine.

And there you have it.

I am visiting from My Romantic Home party! Just love how this turned out. While trying to go to sleep last night, I was thinking that I need to paint the china cabinet black with red distressing underneath. I could see it in my mind but you just put it into pictures for me!! Thanks for the inspiration to go forward!! You have a new follower!!

How beautiful this came out. I love the rub-through. You must use a sprayer because the finish is so smooth. ~ Christa

How beautiful. That distressed black wood is one of my all time favorite finishes. Excellent

I forgot to ask my question? Did you achieve the antique look by sanding down to the bare wood? Thank you!

Wow! What a transformation. You wouldn't even think it was the same dresser!

I love that technique! I love how the wood shows in some spots! Could you tell me how to do it? Is there a chemical you rub the furniture in some spots? I'm addicted to your blog!!
