The Gardner Girls Dresser - Before & After

Before The big girls' room has had a black frenchy dresser which I have enjoyed but we needed something with more height and more drawers for storage. And as most of you know - I am all about storage. I like things put away in their place. Clutter equals chaos in my book so any way to provide storage around our house is the way to go!

I had been looking for a while and kept eyeing this piece. It is close to 46 inches tall of wonderful storageness! I liked the little feet on the bottom that lifts it slightly off the ground. I am very happy with the result because we of course painted it my favorite color which is white!

After This dresser sits nestled next to the bed so it is a wee bit hard to get it in a complete shot. The room is not entirely complete so I am not yet posting a picture of the room in all of its glory. I still have a few ideas I am working on to finish it all up. But then again I ask myself if anything in my home is every really completed. We kept the original hardware because I liked the chunky dark bronze look with the new pink glass knobs we added on all three of the top drawers. Sitting on top of the dresser is an old gift from a best friend. She gave me this tiny hutch with the chicken wire for Christmas years ago. We have since painted it and I am happy to display it on this tall white dresser. The quilt on the bed is a Pottery Barn that incorporates an array of wonderful fun colors. It is quite heavy and makes for more comfortable sleeping on cold nights! Here you can catch a glimpse of the footboard. The bed is quite stately and large which works well with the height of the dresser. And there you have it! The Gardner Girls dresser. It will be with us for many years to come!

Isn't it fun when you can enjoy the fruits of your labor in your own home? It's so rewarding. The dresser is exactly what I've been on the hunt for for my daughter. LOVE the bun feet. And that quilt - to die for!

I am very new to painting furniture, and have an old dresser that I wanted to paint. What type of brush did you use so that you don't see the brush strokes? Did you spray it?...If so could you tell me what kind of spray you used?..Any tips would be MUCH appreciated!!Thanks!!

Do you handpaint or use a sprayer?
