BeforeI have been so excited about this dresser and it is not mine! I have emailed back and forth a bit with this particular client to find the perfect piece for her bedroom. She was looking for a rather tall dresser to display her t.v. instead of mounting it on the wall. I had been eyeing a very tall dresser about an hour up north but it was a bit more than I wanted to spend so I sent her a picture of the ad. She said "yes!" I am going to get it. The next day she messaged me and said she had found a different piece so if I wanted the one she had picked up I could have it - and this time it was only ten minutes away so I just couldn't pass it up. Watch for that reveal coming up. This particular dresser she found had so may layers of detail and when I initially saw it I could see why she fell in love with it so quickly. She suggested adding some small feet so it sits off the ground a bit and give it just a little more height. Interesting how different a piece flush to the ground versus off the ground can look. After her approval this is what Mike came up with. And my goodness what a difference the adjustment made. After The classic black finish provided this already beautiful piece a touch of elegance and the additional feet give it a stately look and feel. The beaded detail at the top really crowns the piece all together.
The original hardware is heavy and chunky which really compliments the finish and the size of the dresser.
The knobs are work perfectly on the smaller drawers.
A beauty isnt she. I have had so much fun working with the Beardalls on this piece and know it will look beautiful in their home sitting up against a newly painted light blue grey wall.
I have to admit I have been glued to the tv the last couple of days watching the devastation in Japan. Today I took a break. The tragedy is overwhelming and I am having a hard time processing the images I am seeing. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones or to those who are searching for them. God bless them.

That is beautiful.. I mean beautiful!
What a stunning piece!! I can see why you loved it so much and what a great idea to add a bit more height to, especially if a tv will sit on it. Very elegant indeed and I love the handles and knobs!
I hear you about Japan, I had to stop watching for a while too, I still can't wrap my brain around all that devastation. I pray that each day they find survivors.

I love this! I would like to do something very similar to a dresser and headboard I have... I am just not sure what steps to take. Do I sand it lightly, apply primer, then paint black. Did you use a matte black paint? Did you use a spray paint or canned paint?
Gorgeous, I love how it turned out! Martina
