The Gardner Book Page Wreath #2

I made another book page wreath as is evidenced above. However, this one was much much faster so I wanted to share how it I did this one in about an hour versus the other wreath I posted last week which took me about gazillion hours. Or something like that.
With this wreath I opted not to paint the ends of the pages. Not that the drying takes much time really but I liked the rough edges created by tearing out the pages. On my original wreath I used a small reading book so this time I opted for a much bigger book so as to save time! I wanted bigger pages! When you have a three year old running around the house time is of the essence.
You can see here that I did not fold my pages much. Maybe three at the most. Thus the fullness is more spread out and not so tight together. This required less gluing time and reduced the risk for glue gun burns. Have I mentioned before how much I adore old typewriters. Um yes, I think I have. This is our second antique typerwriter that was given to us as a gift. It has the wide paper cartridge and that thing weighs about 100 pounds. No joke. Pick it up and you feel like you are carrying a very heavy piece of industrial equipment. It is super heavy. Enough said.
Quick side note - if you look closely at the picture next to the books you will see a five generation photo. It is somewhat faded and you can hardly see me because I am blending into the white background but starting from the right my father is holding me in my blessing gown. Next to him is his father, next to him is his mother, and next to her is her mother. I treasure this picture.
If you are looking for a fun project to do over the holidays I really recommend this one - especially the quick method I have talked a bit about. They are fun to display and super cheap. This one was under $5.

I like it as well as your other one. It looks quite a bit different...more "relaxed" somehow. Great job on both of them! Happy Thanksgiving- Diana

I don't know what it so appealing about book pages, is it the color of the paper that ages so beautifully against the graphic type or is it simply the written words... I don't know but I simply love it and your wreath is wonderful
