The James Hutch - Custom Refinish Before & After

Before Look at this cute little hutch that the James family brought us to refinish. Those flour and sugar drawers are so cool! And we were so excited to do red again. The color was very similar to Brooke's red buffet.

After
It is so fun to see the transformation of a piece like this. It has so many fun details. And I really do not think that the pictures do this one justice. Sometimes placement of the furniture and time of the day and lighting can make such a difference!
One of the fun details are the drawers I mentioned earlier.
And the hinges on the outside. They originally had a brassy finish so we painted them black to match the new hardware.
The top piece has a beadboard style back and the shelf has plate holders.
We really enjoyed working with the James family and hope we can work with them again sometime in the future.
I am linking to the parties on my sidebar.

Absolutely LOVE the red! How fun is that? I love it when custom clients take a color risk and it pays off, big time. :)

The red is very striking on the hutch. That brings a nice pop of color to a room. Great color and hardware.

OOHH I love it. Red is one of my favorite colors and I use it generously. The finish is perfect and with the white plates that really pop against the red. I am jealous.

Lucky James family! I am love with that color. I have an old Hoosier in my garage that I have long wanted to paint red. Somebody around 1950 painted it what I call battleship gray, and it is dull, dull, dull! It still has mot of the working parts. Wish you lived close to me -- I would hire you!

Stunning red shade! That is perfect for a farmhouse kitchen. I'm sure they'll love the update to this piece.

I adore this red! And those drawers remind me of my grandmother's cabinet--it even had a built-in sifter. You did a great job and I am sure they are happy happy with the results! Nice to "meet" you :)
