Before We picked this little baby up for a steal. The owner originally told me that they had someone else coming to take a look at it but would let me know if they did not want it. At that point I had written it off because typically I never hear back. But this time I did. I have been looking for an entry piece for a small wall we have on our main floor. And this has proved to be perfect. It is small and rather narrow and has so many fun elements.
After
So this is is where I am requesting some help. We took the wire lattice off the door and we ordered bubble glass. But once I got the books set up I am questioning myself about the bubble glass. I rather like the open look and the display options by leaving the door just like it is.
So what do you think?
Open?
Bubble glass?
The bubble glass was a special order and should be in today.
I guess we will have a decision to make tonight. Thoughts?
The design of the table is so unique. It has straight lines and curves. It has inlays and defined legs.
We kept the original hardware but eliminated some of the gold embellishments that were orginally attached. We felt the more simple look was what we were looking for.
The little dangly pull on the drawer could not be more perfect.
Although small this piece has several levels of details. You can see the back leg is outlined all the way to the top of the piece. The front legs are defined to the top as well. The curved sides are inlayed and pop with the slight distressing. The feet have the original dulled brassy "shoes".
Happy Tuesday!

I LOVE what you did with that piece. I would go with the bubble glass for sure. It will protect your books from dust and add to the uniqueness of it. Can't wait to see what you decide:)

That turned out so good! I've been looking for an entryway table for a long time now.
I like the look of it open but would want to see how it looks with the bubble glass as well. So in other words, I don't have much of an opinion! ;)
what a unique table~ love the old color AND the new!~
put the glass in, that is unique too.
i love what you did to this not sure bout the glass i really like it as it is being shown.
I love the open look. It's a great way to showcase your awesome old books! I did the same thing with my kitchen buffet that I refinished.
Another beauty! I usually have a good eye, but totally didn't see that one coming! Amazing transformation!
Bubble glass all the way!!! What a beautiful and unique entry table.
I love this piece! It is wonderful. As for myself, I would opt for the bubble glass. I think it will just finish it off. Because this piece really calls for a door I think the old fashioned glass would be perfect. That being said, it is your piece and you should do what YOU want with it. It will be perfect either way. Diana
This piece is darling!!!! I can't wait to see it.
Oh I love it! Id go with the bubble glass...but mainly b/c Im dreaming of it in MY entryway and thinking Id want to hide things inside it:)
Bubble glass...it looks unfinished without it.
♥hugs♥
This piece is great! Have you thought about chicken wire? ;-)
I really love what you did to this! I love simpler things too. I like that it's open. Guess I'm not entirely sure what "bubble glass" is, but I think it looks really cool open. It's unusual and a little unexpected. Would love a table like this for my front hall!!
I thought the books were faux painted! I'm always losing the battle with dust, so I would go for the glass
What a beautiful and unique piece! I would still go with the bubble glass to complete the look.
What a pretty little piece! It fits perfect right there! Either would look great bu I really like the openness of the shelf with the books. I have some extra chicken wire! ;) Just kidding! You did an amazing job on this!
i think i would like it with the glass, but either way, it is beautiful! what a unique shape and it fits perfectly in your space. just gorgeous, melanie!
How pretty! I like seeing the book display!
Melanie, I am really loving the look of the piece as it is now. Perhaps go ahead and get the glass, for a change in the future, this way you have a opportunity to have two looks with one piece of furniture.
Either way, I know it will be gorgeous.
Hugs,
Cindy
I really love the table and I think the glass would add an extra touch! Can't wait to see what you decide to do!
I really like it as is. It's a really cool entry table!
I love it, leave it open!!!
What a great piece! I'm not sure I would've had the guts to paint it but it turned out beautifully~
that is the best piece of furniture ever! it is so different, and i love what you did with it. it's gorgeous open with the books. love it!
The great part about leaving it open is that you can just reach in and take out a book for reading. If you had dishes or collectibles I would add the glass to protect everything. Either way it's got a nice design!
You did a great job on that piece! I think it looks nice open...it's hard to say which would be better without seeing the glass. Visiting from Make It Yours Day!
Love the piece.
Would love to have that hardware you took off. the trim I mean
being kind of a shabby girl, I'd probably sand it up, and put chicken wire in the door.
But, that's just me. =)

I love the shape of this table! You did an excellent job on the makeover~
Looks so much better painted white. Love the shape and curves of the table. It works perfect for your entry space.
I love it! It would go perfectly in my fourier:) I think bubble glass would look great! You have a true talent!
A really great piece of furniture you found...I think I'd go with the glass myself but it does look good without it too!

Bubble glass and i love the slenderness of this as well as the delicate details.
Hello! I am your newest follower! I LOVE your blog. You have completely inspired me! You do beautiful work!
Wow, that is awesome, thanks for sharing!
Love how this turned out! I, too, like the open look very much but since I don't care too much for dusting I would probably go ahead with the glass just to make the upkeep easier. Thanks for sharing!
Quite a unique table...try the bubble glass. Trish
I do love this piece! Those "shoes" are great, too! Thanks so much for linking it up, Melanie! -shaunna :)
Super cute piece!
Love it the way it is!!

I would definately go with the glass! Although it's a great piece all on its own!
Amazing transformation. I wouldn't even worry about adding the glass. It doesn't even look like the same table.
Thanks for sharing at My Backyard Eden!
I would paint the wire grill and put it back in.
I love this! Beautiful with or without the glass! Good on ya for seeing the potential in this piece!
I featured you today! Come check it out!

Beautiful re-do! The perfect place for that piece! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful. I vote bubble glass, but either way, you can't go wrong. It's lovely.
Totally charming!
Warm blessings,
Spencer
Hi, just love it! It's a stunning piece. I just finished a White Wine Cabinet for my entryway also, and love it as it's small and narrow too. Those old cabinets are awesome because of their petite size. I think you could go either way, if you love to display keep it as is, bubble glass is nice, I even fancied the wire, it was very French Country looking. And another option is plain wood, you can paint some detail on it, or you can add tin for detail or keep it plain to hide a world of secrets, love your blog, such pretty stuff, tami
Just stopping by from Fabulous Friday Party!! As always, I love all your pieces! What a unique table and I like the way you have it accessorized!
You are so right; this piece has wonderful details! Painting it white gave it the perfect update.
If you like the "open" look, you could always take the door off, fill in the holes from the hinges, etc. touch up the paint, and leave it completely open. I would just stick the glass in, and see how you like it. Then go from there.
Thanks for linking to my party. I look forward to seeing what you link up each week.

Thanks for the inspiration - this looks amazing. I've been searching Craigslist religiously and warned hubby to be ready to jump when I find something. lol New follower, btw!
It's so pretty! I think I'd put the glass in and see how you like it.
Great transformation! I'm loving the fresh clean white & the adorable mini bunting!

Just gorgeous! I love that it has a narrow profile so it doesn't stick way out - perfect for an entry!
