It dates back to the late 1800s to early 1900s and they are gorg-e-ous. The pieces are very distinguishable by the design and elements of the finish.
You see I have one. A twin headboard and footboard. And not to sound greedy but I really need
another one. This one has been sitting in storage for close to a year now. It is a twin bed and it really needs a twin! And they don't even need to be identical twins - in fact it would be better if they each had their own characteristics and were different from each other. We have no plans to paint these but to use them just how they are. The few dings and mishaps tell a story and we want to keep it that way.
So my hunt will continue. I think it will be a while before I land another one of these babies.
On another note - we have been blogging about our furniture for close to a year now AND we are close to 500 followers (thank you everyone!) so we are putting together a little something something for a GIVE AWAY which we will announce some time next week. We want to show our appreciation for all of the support we have had this past year.
Happy Friday!

I hope you don't plan to paint that! It's beautiful ;)
good luck in your search, melanie! i am sure you will find one- it will turn up when you aren't looking!
Beautiful! I have a settee and a couple of chairs. I am thinking of painting them, but my husband frowns on it.

I had an Eastlake bed when I was growing up. Of course then I thought it was old-fashioned and ugly...kind of...;>) I don't know what ever happened to it after I left home. I have an Eastlake wicker rocker on my front porch that is in excellent shape. It was that ugly old brown color (painted) so I finally did paint it white this past summer. Hope you can find a twin (fraternal) for the bed you have...Hugs- Diana
SERIOUSLY!!! What a treasure you have. It's beautiful. A twin for sure.
Oh my, that bed took my breath away, it is gorgeous! Just today I was at a neighbor's home (she invited me for a pre-garage-sale peek) and I saw a set of 2 chairs that were almost identical in style, heft & detail to your bed. Of course, she wasn't selling them, though :) I'll be on the lookout for you down here in Atlanta!
It is a beautiful piece, Melanie. I hope you can find a twin! Congrats on almost 500...that's amazing!
Beautiful piece! I can see why you would want another one!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I have not seen any Eastlake furntiure. It's really beautiful with all of that detail. Yes, that would be fun to find a twin. I bet you will!
