Studio 5 Segment

Just this past Friday we had an amazing experience putting together a segment for Studio 5 on KSL. The show airs everyday and their hosts Brooke Walker and Darin Adams discuss several important topics such as family & relationships, money matters, health & wellness, technology, image & style, and home.

You can watch our segment here Studio 5 Furniture Find or at the top of our side bar. I have been unable to load it right in this post.

So here is how it all happened. We received an email from them this past June asking if they could do a segment on our furniture. Brooke was looking for one last piece to complete her new kitchen and was enlisting our help. After I read the email I called Mike and was jumping up and down while telling him of our good fortune. If you had told me a year ago when I started looking for second hand furniture to paint for our little girl's room that it would all lead to this I would just not have believed you! Not even for a minute!
We worked closely with Stephanie Bryson who was nothing but amazing and really pulled it all together. Our first segment was taped in our home the first part of July. I was so so so nervous. I really do not even like to have my picture taken so this was a big step for me. Stephanie and Brooke were awesome.
Once Friday of last week arrived I was getting excited for Brooke to see her final piece. I will do a whole before & after post this week!
And when she came around the corner and saw her new red buffet she really did scream. Several times! Wahoo! Just the reaction that we wanted. Her piece turned out beautifully!
This is Darin and he was great to work with as well. Even though he had not been a part of the prior segment he was right there asking the right questions and shared our energy for Brooke's new piece!
(Stephanie Bryson, Mike, Faith and I, Brooke Walker)

We are so grateful we had this opportunity, for the new friends we have made, and all of the positive feedback we have received through emails and comments on our blog. It has been overwhelming. Thank you to everyone and we truly mean it.

Many of the emails requested more specific painting tips and we will be posting those within the next few days. I am finding that many people are in the same position as we are. . . . a tight budget but a real need to make a change. We hope our tips will help any of you out there who are ready to do-it-yourself! And if you have questions that we have not answered please email us and we will address them.

Thank you to Stephanie, Brooke, and Darin at Studio 5. We had a wonderful time!

I have a huge question for you have you ever repainted a piano? if so would you do it the same as any other furniture? My husband plays piano and has always wanted one but we cant afford a new one so I found one on KSL for 100 and another for 89 both is great working condition but need to be painted. what do you suggest?

I saw this on Studio5 and I just thought it was amazing! I love the distressing. It makes me want to find old furniture and refinish it. Your blog has just been added to my favorites!
