The Kase Hutch - Before & After

Dimensions:
52.5" Wide . 82.5" Tall . 15.5" Deep

Before
This is a Stanley Furniture hutch that has chunky curvy crown molding and intricate wood details on the doors. This is what caught my eye and made a quick jump in the car worth the trip to pick up this great find!

After
We opted to leave the back in its original warm brown finish to accent dinnerware, books, clocks or anything that is featured in it. The contrasting colors make displayed pieces pop.
I admire these doors and once the painting and distressing were complete I think they are even more endearing. The curvy detail at the top of each door as well as the middle piece extending ever so slightly gives it so much depth and dimension.
The chunky curvy molding at the top is unique and seems to crown the hutch altogether.
The two side doors were originally covered in chicken wire that was falling off so we replaced it with glass to keep the clean crisp look and feel. The hardware replacement to oil rubbed bronze knobs was done to keep the attention on the piece itself and not the hardware. The color is subtle against the black but compliments the warmth of the brown undertones peaking through.
I think drawers in hutches are always an added bonus because they lend the element of organization. And this one is no different. And it is always a great feature when they are felt or velvet lined drawers. It provides elegence and keeps your items better in place while the drawer is opened.

This hutch is available for purchase. Please email me @ frostedgardner@live.com for more details!

Up next we have a custom white dining table. It will be a dramatic makeover. It is going from a two toned black and brown to a slightly slighty creamy white.

Thank you for all of your comments on my One Thing Wednesday. Plus we have had a great response to offering a beginners painting class. Bear with us as we worth through the logistics on that. We appreciate all of the feedback and interest!

Happy Thursday!

Melanie-I am a newer follower and don't know what all you have done yet---but whatever it is-You have outdone yourself with this piece. It is absolutely gorgeous. I know there is lots of white out there right now-but for this piece? Black was the perfect choice! I think leaving the inside natural was genius! Diana

This is so gorgeous! I am looking for a piece very much like this to refinish myself in black to go in my dining room. I absolutely love the way you distressed this piece and the hardware changes too. I want to save these pics for my own personal references to use when I find something I am able to redo myself. I would love to purchase yours but the shipping alone would kill me. This is so inspirational!
