The Brooke Buffet - Before & After

BeforeBrooke's buffet had a pretty rough table top. The wood was coming up and flaking off. However, parts were still glued down which made taking it off a bit more labor intensive than we had originally thought. But the reveal was more than worth it because it turned out beautiful and our client was thrilled to put this in her kitchen. We delivered it last night and it fits perfectly in her space and really highlights the black dining chairs and red barstools that sit in the kitchen as well.

AfterThis buffet has one gigantic drawer on top, two smaller middle drawers and two outside cupboards. The wood detail on the top drawer is unqiue and very vintage. The two middle drawers have a wood border and the cupboards have a unique circular detail like I have never seen before. This little blacksplash gives it so much character. The circular wood detail here pulls the piece together.

And as if all of details we have talked about is not enough - each side has an ornate wood bracket to support the top. Can you get enough of all these wonderful features?
Even the feet have a unique shape with stacked hortizontal and vertical elements.
I adore the breezy way under the buffet. It gives so much dimension and can be used to hold sweet lined baskets filled with just about anything imaginable.

Coming up next we are working on two custom small side tables and a bookshelf / hutch. The glass detail is going to make this one so fun!

Happy Tuesday!

Fantastic job, Melanie!! I wish more clients would give me the opportunity to use red. It's my favorite color! And boy, did that picking off of the old flaky veneer look familiar! I've had to do that more times than I'd like to remember. ;)

Wow, it is the perfect piece for that space with my favorite element - an unexpected color! Did you know the veneer was going to have to be removed before you started working on it? I couldn't tell any was chipping off by the before. Can't wait to see what else you are working on.

That is beautiful!!!! And while I love all the blue and white we always see I love that you stepped out of the box and painted it red. Such a fun color, I can imagine the rest of your clients' house must be fun if she is willing to go red on a big piece of furniture like that. It was a gorgeous piece of furniture to start with. Great work!!!
