After This classic black hutch is so versitile because of its size and style. Most hutches are around 80 inches tall but this hutch is smaller which makes it look more like a book shelf than a hutch and would work wonderfully in an office or a bedroom. Also the wooden shelves are a nice feature as opposed to glass shelves which are found in most hutches.
The wood detail on the three bottom doors is elegant. Behind the doors is one large drawer and a smaller drawer with organizers. We have replaced the hardware to give it timeless look.
The top of the hutch has two large doors. Typically hutches we have run across have three panels and one door. The two large doors make it easy to load and unload and can provide for tons of storage. And once again we have stumbled on a unique piece that I would like to keep for myself. I just really need a bigger home to display more furniture! Mike brought it in the house to put it back together and I thought to myself - hmmmm this is a good one. And everytime I walk by the room where it is sitting I have to stop and take a peak!

I have had several clients and readers ask if we take our pieces apart before they are painted. And yes we do. Especially the hutches. So this means take all of the doors off and drawers out. And it also means that it will have to be put back together which can be tricky. I bet more than half a dozen glass inserts have been broken in the process and problems with hinges are common as well. Mike had to make a dash to pick up a new piece of glass for this one to be completed yesterday morning. Yeah - staples and glass don't mix. AND heavy hutches and sideswalks don't mix either. :) Just ask me.
