The Peterson Dresser Set - Custom Refinish Before & After

Before The Petersons brought us these lovely Thomasville french provencial dresser and nightstand set to be painted in our classic black. They wanted some light distressing with the original hardware put back on for obvious reasons - they are gorgeous!

After
With the light distressing the gold and yellow pop through so nicely and really compliment the original hardware. My advice on these types of dressers is to always stay with the curvy frenchy pulls. I cannot think of a hardware switch out that would work better than these. One unique feature on this set is the slight division between the top three drawers and the bottom three drawers. The top ones are slightly set back and divided by some curvy wood detailing. This is called a chest on chest. Thanks Ann Marie!
This feature along with the curvy drawer fronts gives it so much dimension and depth.
And then there are the sweet little legs! Everyone knows how much I love dressers sitting up on these kinds of legs with the detailed wood molding at the base.
Beautiful.
Classy.
Elegant.

Next up I followed another tutorial out there in blogland and finished up one more wreath. Plus our next furniture project is going to be a d000-zeeee!
An old

catalog!

Cannot wait!

  19. I love the black! I picked up 2 nightstands and the matching chest of drawers today for a steal ($40) for all 3 pieces. They are very similar to yours with the curvy frame and gold trim. I was thinking about going black or a peppercorn finish with it and spraying the hardware either silver or white. Now this gives me great ideas for what to do with this fantastic deal!
