The Edna Dresser Set - Custom Refinish Before & After

BeforeIn our haste to get started on this fun project we failed to get full pictures of the tall dresser. We did get pictures of the doors which turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the reveal!

After
It is a good thing that this was a custom refinish because if I would have had the option to keep this one I would have in a heartbeat. White furniture is my favorite. Vintage white furniture just makes my heart sing. And this piece did just that! The elements of detail were numerous! So lets walk through a few of them.
The base of the dresser is super chunky with various levels and depths of molding. This detail extends up around the drawers.
One thing to watch for in finding a quality piece of furniture is extra wood features. Between the two top doors and the bottom drawers there is crown molding. The molding is not just placed on the front but continues to wrap around the sides of the dresser as well. I always watch for this particular detail when picking out a piece.
The top of the dresser above the doors is (you got it) more crown molding. Also look close to the arched wood detail at the top. Plus there is an extended inlay on both sides that reach the length of the doors. You can see here the additional boxed inlays below the vintage wood decor on the doors. The little nighstand compliments the piece so nicely. The top drawer has its own unique feature where we have added the new hardware. When the owner of this lovely set saw it complete she told us that she also at one time owned the nine drawer dresser and mirror with the set but she donated it to charity. She had grown tired of the set and had never thought to paint it for an updated look. Thus we all agreed we hope someone out there is enjoying her donation because she sure is missing it today. :) Thank you to Allison and Edna! It is a pleasure working with you ladies. You make us laugh and smile.

And a quick thank you to all of our followers, friends, and self pr0claimed stalkers! We appreciate the support and encouragement. We are working through the details on the class and have not forgotten those of you who responded. We think we have a facility and still working through the other logistics. Stay tuned!

Happy Weekend!
