The Gardner Antique Fireplace Mantle

Our fireplace mantle is complete but I may wait just a few more weeks for the final reveal. I am still pulling everything together! This mantle was already in wonderful shape it is just that the color was not quite right. Our wood floors are quite dark and the original finish would have looked somewhat light and a bit orange.

So with a darker finish and a bit of polishing up she turned out wonderful. We debated on her perfect spot and it came down to two different walls. Back and forth and rearranging just so she would be perfect. I am so happy we found her!

  2. OK, you know how much I LOVE everything you get your hands on, but this...this stirs up emotion in me that is hard to describe! I remember my Great Grandma's mantle that was so similar! The memories of being at her house when I was little makes me so happy! What a lucky find! I cannot wait for the reveal! Don't leave me hangin' for too long. ;)

  9. I cannot wait for the reveal. I inherited an antique buffet for my Grandma and haven't put it in my house for the same reasons you listed. Please post soon, so I can get an idea of how to finish mine! :)
